In 1997, CEDA members made the construction, transportation and installation of a set of new soccer goals possible by donations of time, materials, and money. Other equipment, including soccer balls and nets, was also donated. To purchase the soccer equipment commercially would have cost the council over $1,000.

Also in 1997, the volleyball pit project was completed, resulting in two regulation size volleyball courts, complete with nets, balls and several truckloads of sand. Both the soccer field and the volleyball courts still prove to be a popular place for Scouts to get together and have fun during the summer.
The newest addition to the recreation area at Camp Eastman during the summer season of 1999 was the completion of a 45’ x 60’ basketball court. Partial funding for this project was obtained from a $3000.00 matching fund grant presented to the Camp Eastman Development Association by Catfish Bend Casino. The Phyllis Ross Estate of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, presented additional funding of $652.00 for goals, backboards and hoops.
