Plan now to attend the 14th Annual Camp Eastman Development Association Banquet and Auction this spring. Banquet chair Merrill Crawford promises another year of interesting and informative displays, good food and fellowship, an exciting auction, and some surprises all wrapped up in a great opportunity to help Camp Eastman.
CEDA will again invite the 2008 Camp Staff to be our guests this year to thank them for their service to Scouting and Summer Camp. Also, the banquet will be free to CEDA members (friends of Camp Eastman who have made monetary donations to CEDA in 2009). Friends of Scouting, scouts, their families, and the general public are welcome!
Since 1995, the projects undertaken by CEDA have grown in number, complexity, and financial burden. The undertaking of future projects is dependant upon the continued generosity of the supporters of Camp Eastman. The annual banquet is the only participative fund-raiser that CEDA holds. CEDA also funds projects through grant applications, bequests, corporate gifts, and repeated donations from Camp Eastman alumni around the world.

Summer Camp Flea Market
Since the summer of 2005, CEDA has been hosting a scouting "Flea Market" for those attending Camp Eastman. This program offers vintage scout uniforms, staff t-shirts, and other scouting memorabilia for sale on Tuesday afternoon during each week of summer camp. All money raised by the sale of flea market items goes directly back into other programs benefiting the Camp Eastman experience. Junior WoodChucks Beginning in 1997, a group of scouters, including several members of CEDA's Board of Directors, have gathered at Camp Eastman prior to the start of summer camp. These enterprising individuals donate a week of their time to work on CEDA projects, as well as performing many of the routine maintenance tasks necessary to get the camp ready for the summer sessions. Recently, the "Chucks" have added a winter gathering, giving them an opportunity to tackle camp projects that are best accomplished during cooler weather, or were put off during the summer session. The Camp Eastman Development Association has continued to provide not only funding, but also the inspiration for many of the projects undertaken by this group. |
